Different approaches of brow lift surgery

Direct brow lift it removes a segment of skin above the brows and incision is hidden in brow hair. It does not treat wrinkles on forehead and often produce a visible scar. This technique is often performed on aged individual because using any other procedure will result in an elevated hairline.

Mid-forehead lift it is often performed on patients who have excessively saggy brows and deep wrinkles on forehead. Incision is made within the deep wrinkles so that scars are less noticeable after recovery period. This procedure does not elevate the hairline of patient.

Coronal forehead lift an ear to ear incision across the top of the head is made that leave the forehead skin intact. It elevated the hairline and results in a longer scar. If patient loses hair at any point in future, the scar would be visible.

Endoscopic brow lift it is done through two or more small incisions. A camera enters into the body that shows the inner tissue on a monitor and surgeon reshapes or removes tissues and muscles as required.

Among all other approaches of brow lift surgery, endoscopic brow lift is often liked due to its various advantages over traditional approaches of browplasty like

  • It is less invasive.
  • Its procedure does not involve making large incisions.
  • Bleeding is minimal.
  • Recovery period is small.

Endoscopic brow lift complications are few. If you have your surgery from an experienced surgeon the chances of risks and complications would further decrease. Some temporary side effects of the procedure are swelling, bruising, numbness and bleeding. A serious complication of the procedure is a chance that the surgeon would unintentionally damage the nerves that will cause frontal branch nerve paralysis. Usually patients lose hair from the incision site.
