Pakistan is blessed with four seasons, a cool and dry winter that starts from December through February, blossomy and colorful spring from March to May, the rainy season or Monsoon period starts from June through September and the retreating monsoon in September and October. Now a day monsoon period is hitting across the Pakistan and people are enjoying this weather with their families by making delicious, mouthwatering, spicy dishes at home. So weather and pakwan are co-related with each other. When weather will be cool and rainy, Pakoras, samosas, Kachori, Dahi Baray and different types of chats is eaten, while in summer Kari Pakora is eaten. Different sorts of BBQ are also liked in Pakistan i.e. seekh Kebab, Bihari Tikka,  malai boti, bihari kebab etc. that are most liked not in Pakistan but in the world due to its sizzling, spicy taste and tenderness.

Why Pakistani Pakwan are Famous?

Pakistani cuisine called Pakistani Pakwan in Urdu. Pakistani dishes are famous and most liked in the world due to its richness and aromatic spicy flavors that vary from region to region. Every region has its own specific and famous dishes that are cooked in their traditional style with basic ingredients.

From Mughal era some dishes and recipes are common both in Pakistan and India. Some Punjabi and Sindhi food are quite similar to north Indian food. Some common ingredients that are used in cooking Black Cardamom, Green Cardamom, Cloves, Cinnamon, Nutmeg ,Black pepper, Bay leaves, Turmeric, Mace, chili Powder, Cumin seeds are most popular in the making of wide variety of dishes. With powder mixture of above spices (Garam Masala), coriander powder is also used in many Pakistani dishes which gives them aromatic flavor. Some famous dishes that of different region are described below:

Khyber Pakhtunkhawa ,FATA and Kalash

Rice and kebab dishes are prominent dishes in this region. Lamb is more often eaten in Pashtun cuisine than any other Pakistani cuisine. Rice, Haleem, Chapli Kebab, tika and mutton karahi are most famous dishes .Pashtun and Balochi pakwan are traditionally non-spicy.


Punjabi cuisine is famous due to its rich and spicy flavored dishes with full of oil that makes them delicious and fuller mouthwatering. Some dishes like Sarson ka Sag, Makai ki Roti, Yakhni Pualo, Dhaba style dal, Kulcha, Kheer, Murgh Cholay, Matar Qeema, Halwa Puri, Nihari, Pinjiri, Paye etc.


Sindhi people like spicy food that is made with chicken dishes. Some famous dishes are Sindhi Biryani, Sindhi Ghost ki Tahari, Sindhi Prawn pilaf, Sindhi Pulao, Sai Bhaji, Sindhi Kari, Sindhi fish curry, Sindhi bhee jib haji, Thandiay etc.
